Finessence Beauty products are based on the ancient principles of Ayurveda (Ah-yur-vay-dah – the science of life)– the original healing science of India. Ayurveda is based on the five element theory, which states that all in the universe is composed of five elements: ether, air, fire, water and earth.

These elements combine to form three Tri-Doshic constitutions – Doshas.

• VATA – ether and air
• PITTA – fire and water
• KAPHA – water and earth

Doshas are influenced by diet, lifestyle, state of mind etc. According to Ayurveda, as long as the dosha are balanced within each individual, then health and harmony will exist. If an element is imbalanced it can cause discomfort and disease. Restoring and maintaining a level of balance is key to healing and managing health.

The skin is the mirror of inner health. What we see externally is simply a manifestation of what is happening internally, be it illness, stress, fatigue etc. Ayurvedic wisdom holds that providing the skin with the purest nourishment possible not only allows for total self-correction of the skin, but also has a profound effect on the entire person.

Ayurvedic products are personalized for use on your pre-determined skin and personality type. The three types are known as the DOSHAS.
There are three Doshas or constitutions that make up your skin and personality type. Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

VATA:  is suited for dry, dehydrated skin types. Vata personalities are usually anxious and restless and are represented by space and air, so the Bindi vata range helps balance with warming, grounding ingredients. Bindi Vata products are colour coded with blue on the packaging.

PITTA: is suited for sensitive skin. Pitta personalities are usually very passionate in nature and are represented by fire and water, so the Bindi Pitta range balances with cooling, soothing ingredients. Bindi Pitta products are colour coded with deep red on the packaging.

KAPHA: is suited for oily skin. Kapha personalities usually have a calm, laid back nature and are represented by earth and water, so the Bindi Kapha range balances with light, stimulating ingredients. Bindi Kapha products are colour coded with green on the packaging.

Although usually we are dominant in one Dosha, many of us have traits that are represented in all three doshas. For people with combination skin or for those who are not sure what range to start with, Bindi has a Tri-Doshic range. This range is very cleverly formulated to correct multi imbalances within the skin.
